Ranking of Cultural Values
The Cultural Behaviors Ranking presents an order of behaviors for the group or account based on the current culture. If you have questions about behaviors, we recommend reading the explanatory material "What are Values and Behaviors."
Now, let's understand why the ranking is presented based on the current culture. Below, we describe two scenarios, one of which is the most common in the market.
There are cases where the current culture aligns with the desired culture—keeping in mind that the desired culture is strategically outlined by the company in the culture code manual (see the explanatory material "How to Create Your Culture Code"). However, it is also common for the current culture to differ from the desired culture, a situation known as the cultural gap. Therefore, it is crucial to map these discrepancies to begin taking actions aimed at achieving the desired culture.
In many companies, it’s common to have a clear understanding of the desired behaviors but a lack of clarity about the behaviors actually present within the group(s) today.
Our focus is on understanding where we are now and guiding what needs to be done to get where we want to be—bringing clarity to the prioritization and implementation of effective actions.
With that in mind, let’s explore the Cultural Behaviors Ranking section in practice.
When you select Current Culture, the group's or account's current behaviors will appear, ordered by probability.
How does probability work? It is calculated based on how many times a behavior was presented in the engagement survey and how frequently it was chosen by employees.
You can click on the filter to change the order from probability to score. In other words, the behaviors will be categorized based on the accumulated votes within 90 days, from most voted to least voted, as shown in the image below:
When you select Cultural Alignment, the behaviors that align with the desired culture—configured in the culture code for this group—and the Current Culture will be presented. Lastly, when you select Unfavorable Culture, the behaviors that compromise the health of the culture based on the Current Culture will be shown.
